Therapeutic use : Octreotide Acetate Injection is used to manage conditions associated with excessive hormone secretion, such as acromegaly, carcinoid tumors, and vasoactive intestinal peptide–secreting tumors (VIPomas). It is also used to control severe diarrhea and flushing caused by neuroendocrine tumors, to reduce bleeding from esophageal varices, and to suppress pancreatic secretions in certain gastrointestinal disorders by inhibiting the release of specific hormones.
